Reverence and Trust – Even AI Makes Mistakes. So Do We. And We Learn.

At our copper tube plant, we live by an old creed: "Revere your work, and keep your trust."

Last month, we installed an AI visual inspector on our annealing line. Fast – 2,000 meters per minute. On day one, it rejected 300 kg of perfect coils – false alarm.

Our veteran operator Mr. Chen looked at the screen and said: "Machine or man, we all make mistakes. But does it learn?"

That became our new rule.

What we did:

Retrained the AI with real defect samples – false rejects dropped 62% in two weeks.

Cleaned our camera lenses – we realized we fed it blurry data. Garbage in, garbage out.

Hung a "Mistake Board" on the shop floor – human errors and AI errors, side by side. No blame. Just lessons.

Trust isn't about being perfect. It's about being honest when we fall short, fixing it, and teaching everyone – human or silicon.

Today, every control panel says:

"Human and AI – both students. The furnace is the teacher. Learn together."

We make mistakes. But we make progress too.

That's how we earn trust – one tube, one lesson at a time.
